Cotton wilts on weak offtake

... -

August 01, 2015 Rajkot, July 31:

Cotton prices moved down on weak demand from domestic mills and normal monsoon progress. Kapas or raw cotton traded flat on limited ginning demand. Traders said that demand was very limited and export buying was almost nil. Gujarat Sankar-6 cotton lost ₹100 to ₹33,700-34,200 per candy of 356 kg. About 2,500 bales of 170 kg arrived in Gujarat and 4,000 bales arrived in India. Kapas stood at ₹900-920 per 20 kg and gin delivery kapas was ₹920-935 per 20 kg. Cottonseed was flat at ₹445-460.
