October 04, 2022 Sirisila Rural, October 3: CITU Powerloom Workers Union state president Musham Ramesh and district president Kodam Ramana have demanded that 10 percent yarn subsidy be given to Bathukamma saree makers in Sirisila to support the workers. Leaders and workers led by the District Committee of Situ Powerloom Workers Union staged a dharna in front of the work center of handloom textile industry at BV Nagar in Sirisila Nagar on Monday. On this occasion AD Sagar sent a petition and assured to deposit ten percent yarn subsidy in workers account till Tuesday morning and the sit-in ended. In the later meeting, Ramesh and Kodam Ramana said that if the money is not deposited in the workers’ accounts, the relay will go on hunger strike in front of the 4th office. Textile Park Union President Kuchna Shankar, district leaders Nakka Devdas, Gundu Ramesh, Sripati Muninder, Goranthala Rajamallu, Bezigam Suresh, Anjane Yulu, Gaddam Ilaiah, Gaddam Rajasekhar, Sandupatla Pochamallu, Ramesh, Raju and Ganesh workers participated in the event.
