Cotton yarn markets in north India remained sluggish ahead of Diwali, with mills and traders anticipating better demand once festive payment flows resume. Prices stayed stable in Ludhiana and Delhi despite cheaper cotton, as mills expect export support. Panipat's recycled yarn market also stayed steady amid weak demand. Cotton arrivals rose to around ***** bales. -
October 14, 2025 The Ludhiana market witnessed stability in cotton yarn prices after a slight easing earlier this week. Spinning mills did not reduce prices despite cheaper cotton. Cotton prices eased by *–* per cent over the past two weeks. A trader from Ludhiana told Fibre*Fashion, “Spinning mills preferred to keep cotton yarn prices unchanged. They expect export demand support in the coming week. Cheaper cotton will improve their competitiveness in global markets.”
