The idea behind Sunday Market was to optimally utilise the existing facilities, sources said.
The weekly market with about 4,000 shops at the Rs. 450 crore Complex signifying Erode's status as South India's Powerloom hub was initiated last September.
The project initiated with Rs. 40 crore grant from the Ministry of Textiles, is promoted by the Lotus Group and URC Group in Erode.
The complex with four lakh square feet buildings with all business-friendly modern amenities is the largest in South India, sources added.
